Who is eligible to be a member of the true Ekklesia?
The word 'CHURCH ' in the New Testament is translated from the Greek word 'ekklesia' which comes from two words 'ek' meaning 'out' and 'kaleo' meaning to 'call.' An ekklesia or 'calling out' was not just an assembly. The words agora and paneguris as well as heorte, koinon, thiasos, sunagoge and sunago can all mean an assembly. The word ekklesia was a political term, not a religious term. In classical Greek "ekklesia" meant "an assembly of citizens summoned by the crier, the legislative assembly."
In Israel the legislative assembly was originally composed of the elders of each family group; however, by the time the Messiah was born, it had become a body of rulers exercising authority over the people of Judea. It was a body of sacrilegious lawmakers who, under the guise of religion, exercised authority and ran the offices of government through a vast bureaucratic system. This same form of governance has increased in corruption and continues today, in the Western world under the pretense of a “democracy”.
Since the authority of the State in Israel was originally in the hands of the elders of each family, they did not usually gather together to overthrow the corruption of government since they were the government. The heads of every household were the princes of Israel, which was a government of the people, for the people and by the people, under the God of Heaven as long as they remained faithful to Him. But once the voice of the people sought a king who appointed officers over them from the top down, the need for an ekklesia steadily grew.
Yehowshua is the King of Kings, and meant the term “Ekklesia” for a good reason.
When the Greek city states found their governments had become too corrupt and oppressive, they would call for an ekklesia, an assembly outside the civil authority of the city. If enough people came out and refused to accept the existing centralized civil authority, that government would collapse. Peaceful participation has been a successful and peaceful means to free mankind from oppressive civil authority throughout history.
Like the walk out strikes instituted by Gandhi in hope of freeing his people from oppression of colonization, the act of calling the people out could be a very effective method of obtaining freedom through non violence. Gandhi, not only encouraged worker strikes, but also practical methods to free society from the benefits and need of the corporate and often oppressive civil state. Moses had previously done a similar thing in Egypt when he taught the people how to live without the exercising of illegitimate authority and receiving benefits from the Pharaoh, whilst still maintaining a viable, cohesive and productive society.
Our Saviour’s procession on an ass, into Jerusalem was a call for the people to stand against a corrupt oppressive government by offering them, (and us today), a legitimate government that operated differently from the likes of despots and international terrorists such as Herod the Great, John Howard and George Bush.
John the Baptist had preached the kingdom of heaven was at hand, [Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.] which was to be nothing less than a government operating by love and faith, it practiced charitable freewill offerings and had the law and the prophets as teachers. The people were treated with royal favour and empowered with the gift of obedience to Yhwh’s royal law. [Exodus 35:29 The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.]
Love, and genuine appreciation to Yhwh, was the sole motive for voluntary charitable participation [Luke 3:11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise.]
The perfect law of liberty was the guidelines of love, by which the people of faith would live in order to enjoy freedom from sin, and peace of heart. [James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.] The Messiah preached the same method of self government under His jurisdiction, and proclaimed that right, and sealed it with His death, for all who would remain faithful to Him. It was a powerful and non-violent movement of the people, by the people, and for the people, through the Messiah, to change the course of history by changing the hearts and minds of men [Matthew 20:25-26 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;]
Ephesians 5:23-32 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Psalms 94:20-23 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Mark 7:7-9 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
The Ekklesia has no earthly father, master nor king, but it is servant to all fellow brethren, under the perfect law of liberty.
The use of the English word CHURCH was, unfortunately, a poor choice of translation in place of the Greek word “ekklesia".
The word "CHURCH" has its origin in the meaning of "lordship" which is an accurate description as we observe the present ecclesiastical, religious, political, social, educational, judicial and medical system, presently in place, where certain men and women are looked up to for authority. PERSONS, such as POPES, PRIESTS, NUNS, PRIME MINISTERS, PRESIDENTS, MAYORS, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS, POLICE MEN AND WOMEN, SCHOOL TEACHERS, MAGISTRATES, JUDGES, LAWYERS, SOLICITORS, DOCTORS & ETC., all require our faith in them and their doctrines in order to survive, and bleed us of all we think we own.
The culmination of this abomination of religion in today’s society is known in scripture as “BABYLON”. It is headed by ROME, HERSELF.
The following verse has ALL CAPS, just as does the tomb stone of every other DEAD BODY, or CORPS, or CORPORATION if you will.
Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, will know that these sections that make up today’s society, are, in truth, purely “religious” in nature, and are, in fact, CHURCHES, which, those in the CONGREGATION OF THE DEAD, trust and believe in. They all require some form of doctrinal belief, be those doctrines truth or lies, yokes of bondage, or release from some problem, is irrelevant to themselves, or to those who believe in them. They are known in the New Testament as “nations”. We get the word “denominations” from this word; and the word “nations” refers to the non-spiritual masses of unbelievers. (See Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.)
Revelation 18:2-5 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
When people believe and trust in “nations” for their protection and sustenance, instead of relying and trusting in the word of their Creator, this becomes idolatry. Such are the fruits of the above CORPORATE professions; thus the people get the government’s religion and consequently, the oppression and control measures they deserve.
